Artist Statement:

I aim to create art that brings harmony to an inner feeling, serving as a reminder of the interconnectedness of all things. My work is a bridge between the seen and the unseen, an invitation to explore the depth of our shared existence through the language of color, form, and vision.

Biography:

Michelle Muller is an Ontario-born painter and educator whose work bridges figurative portraiture and visionary art. With a Master of Science in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia, her practice is informed by a lifelong curiosity about consciousness, perception, and the relationship between body, mind, and creativity.

Michelle returned to painting in 2017 after attending visionary art workshops at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York. Since then, she has continued her studies with artists including Amanda Sage, Autumn Skye Morrison, David Heskin, Aloria Weaver, Michael Fuchs, and Alex and Allyson Grey. While rooted in visionary traditions, her work remains deeply personal—often exploring themes of transformation, memory, and human connection through portraiture and symbolic imagery.

Prior to focusing on her art practice, Michelle worked in neuroscience research and science communication. Her academic work includes a review publication in the Journal of Neurochemistry on iron dysregulation in Huntington’s disease, and she has contributed as a science writer for educational webinar platforms as well as working as a neurofeedback technician supporting brain-based therapeutic approaches.

Her life and creative path were profoundly shaped by recovery from a near-fatal car accident in 2011, an experience that led her to holistic movement practices that emphasize embodiment and healing. This perspective continues to inform both her artwork and her teaching.

Alongside her studio practice, Michelle works as an educator in Ontario schools and shares her love of creativity with young people. Through both art and teaching, she is committed to cultivating spaces where curiosity, expression, and self-discovery can unfold.
